3yo filly Brutal Miss went to the races for the first time today at the Gold Coast and was expected to make a statement, and she delivered in style.
Jumping a touch slow, Jett took her medicine early and found a nice trail at the tail of the field, allowing the filly to travel comfortably.
After copping interference rounding the bend, she was posted wide with plenty of ground to make up. Once balanced, she pinned the ears back, got back into rhythm at the 200m and absolutely dashed past them to win by an impressive 1.7 lengths.
A great training performance by Matthew Dunn and a lovely ride by his apprentice Jett Newman.
This filly was just a $5,000 purchase, once again demonstrating our value driven purchasing strategy.
Our thoughts are with Ross O’Sullivan and Jason Taylor, who unfortunately fell at the 400m. We hope both riders and horses are okay 🙏
