What a performance from our 4YO Exceedance gelding today at Rosehill! Last start he climbed off the canvas to scrape home – today he showed a different side.
Jumping well, champion apprentice Braith Nock settled him just off the speed – a change from his trademark catch me if you can style. When the gap came on the bend, he quickened, was nursed through a flat spot, and knuckled down to reel in the favourite. In the end, he was too tough, scoring by just under half a length.
All heart. He’s now a 4-time winner for his ownership group. From a $50,000 Inglis Ready2Race purchase, he’s banked $276,000 – more than 5.5x his purchase price.
