On the back of two winning trials in Sydney, we went to Hawkesbury confident in She Conquers chance to break her maiden.
The wide barrier certainly caused some stress as she jumped well but was kept wide by plentiful speed on the inside. Tyler Schiller didn’t panic, and kept her travelling mid-field, albeit four wide. The speed was on which suited the position of our girl.
Rounding the only bend of the 1000m of Hawkesbury, Tyler went wide, taking bad luck out of the equation. Schiller felt plenty underneath him and cuddled her through her gears, knowing she’ll keep finding.
She hit the final furlong and turned on the nitrous for what looked to be the final dive of the clear leader. Passing the 100m she kept finding and wooshed to the front winning impressively by 0.6L. Congratulations to her patient ownership group who certainly had Christmas come early. Thank you to Ryan & Alexiou Racing for having her in pristine condition and Tyler Schiller for the patient ride.
She Conquers was purchased for $44,000 at the 2023 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale from Kingstar Farm who retained 25% of the ownership. We still have shares available in up & coming 2yo’s purchased at similar value!
